Redback appoints new GM of sales
It appears to be onwards and upwards for Queensland start-up Redback Technologies with the appointments of a new general manager of sales and marketing and a technical marketing manager to drive sales of its smart hybrid solar storage system.
Mike Haines will step into the GM role, coming with 25 years of industry experience from companies such as Enphase Energy, SPI, Apple and Seagate. He was responsible for supporting business growth in new markets, with a focus on driving incremental revenue for Fortune 500 companies and start-ups.
“I’m looking forward to working with Redback Technologies and their exciting innovative technology to lead the way in the renewable energy sector in Australia and enabling solar installers and home owners to realise the potential and savings of the Smart Hybrid System,” said Haines.
James Sturch, who will take on the technical marketing manager role, also has extensive experience in the global renewable energy industry.
He will join Haines on the task of working with retail partners, electricians and solar installers to promote Redback’s Smart Hybrid System for the residential market.
The founder and managing director of Redback, Philip Livingston, said he is excited about the new appointments.
“I’m delighted to welcome Mike and James to our team,” said Livingston.
“We will continue to invest in accelerating the momentum of our solutions and partnerships to address the energy storage and management needs of Australian home owners. The true beauty of the Redback Smart Hybrid System is that customers receive the new enhancements automatically as they are integrated into our customers’ platform through the cloud.”
Redback also recently signed a solar deal with the University of Queensland that will see joint projects expanded and commercialisation of the university’s energy storage research.
