New electrical safety guide released
A new guide for electrical contractors ensuring a safe system of work has just been released by the Electrical Safety Office in Queensland.
The Electrical contractor guide — Developing a safe system of work for electrical work will assist electrical contractors, qualified technical persons and qualified business owners to develop a safe system of work for their business.
According to the Electrical Safety Office, while every business is different, the guide provides general advice that contractors need to consider in order to meet their electrical safety duties and regulatory compliance requirements.
The guide contains advice and information on these topics:
- Electrical safety legislation.
- Contractor licensing requirements.
- Training and supervision of workers.
- Processes for electrical work.
