National Electrical & Communications Association (NECA)

Monday, 15 February, 2016

The Victorian Council has announced the appointment of James Keegan to the position of NECA Victorian Chapter Executive Director effective 15 February 2016.

He will replace Mike Purnell, who has been acting in the role since last year.

Keegan worked in various senior roles for 25 years at Schneider Electric and most recently was in the role of Vice President Strategy & Solutions Schneider Electric Pacific. His qualifications include Electrical A Grade (Box Hill), Marketing (Swinburne University) and Leadership (Harvard).

NECA said his expertise will provide members with an understanding of the future market space, as well as help position members to take advantage of those opportunities.

“The Victorian Council is particularly excited by the opportunities that NECA is now providing members, such as the new Technical Knowledge Base, upgraded Safety System, revised website and the revitalised road show program, and we believe that those opportunities will be enhanced and grow under James’s leadership,” NECA Victoria President John Cutler said.

“The Victorian Council also would like to take this opportunity to thank Mike Purnell for taking on the role for the past 7 months. During this time we have seen NECA change and grow. This will not be apparent to the members immediately but over the next 12 months the additional services that we will provide I am sure will be appreciated.”
