NECA launches plain English guide to Modern Award
The National Electrical and Communications Association (NECA), the Australian industry body for electrical and communications contractors, has announced the launch of a plain English guide to the Modern Award and a free online webinar.
The launch of the online webinars was the culmination of a six-month project and will provide every electrical contractor in Australia with a simple yet thorough guide to what is a challenging area for many business owners, said NECA CEO James Tinslay.
NECA received funding for the Shared Industry Assistance Program (SIAP) managed by the Fair Work Ombudsman and launched the online webinars on 5 April 2011 on the NECA website. SIAP involves a practical guide to the Modern Award and National Employment Standards that will provide a plain English explanation of the majority of the provisions of the Modern Award, and a digital video webinar on the Modern Award.
