Funding to upskill young employees
The Australian Government has opened a new pilot program for applications under the Youth Stream of the Industry Skills Fund.
The Training for Employment Scholarships program aims to help deliver skilled young employees to businesses in regions where unemployment is high.
Businesses that operate in one of the the selected regions, have less than 200 staff and hire an unemployed person aged 18-24 years after 1 March 2015 may be eligible for funding of up to $7500 to help their young employee gain new skills or qualifications.
Applications for the pilot program are open until 29 February 2016.
