Electrical job opening with CSIRO
CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science is currently seeking an electrician for the commissioning, monitoring and maintenance of a range of LV and ELV electrical systems for its Murchison Support Facility (MSF) in Geraldton, Western Australia.
The role will also look after the diesel electric generation plant and precision antenna drive systems, and the cooling and general electrical infrastructure support for radio-astronomical instrumentation.
The position will be based at the Murchison Support Facility (MSF) in Geraldton with regular visits to the Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory (MRO) and the Australian Square Kilometre Pathfinder (ASKAP) radio telescope, about 350 km northeast of Geraldton.
CSIRO is looking for applicants who have electrical qualifications and an understanding of electrical generation, transmission and distribution backed up by a sound body of experience, a demonstrated knowledge of relevant electrical standards, installation and maintenance scheduling, as well as being able to apply appropriate test equipment and problem-solving from systems through to circuit level.

Salary: $78K to $88K plus up to 15.4% superannuation
