Draft electrical installation standards open for comment
Two new electrical installation standards have been opened for public comment by Standards Australia.
The standards will supersede AS/NZS 3001:2008, and include provisions for the connection of electric power to various types of transportable structures and vehicles. These vehicles include caravans and various temporary structures such as tents used for domestic and commercial purposes.
This is an opportunity to share your feedback — including what you do and don’t like in the drafts — before the standards are adopted.
To have your say on draft ‘AS/NZS 3001.1:2020 – Transportable Structures and supply arrangements – Site supplies for transportable structures and vehicles’, and draft ‘AS/NZS 3001.2.2020 – Transportable Structures and supply arrangements – Transportable structures and vehicles’, follow the instructions below:
- Visit Standards Australia to download the drafts (you will be prompted to sign in or register on your first visit).
- Review both drafts and contact the Master Electricians Australia technical team on 1300 889 198 to discuss any of the proposed changes in the document.
- Submit your feedback online via the Standards Australia portal.
The closing date for feedback is 20 July 2020.
