DOT92 wins Pierlite an Excellence Award
Pierlite has been awarded the Illuminating Engineering Society’s Excellence Award for its recently launched DOT92 LED downlight range.
“An overwhelming characteristic of all the successful entries was the amount of research and/or experimentation that took place in the development of the successful solutions,” said judge Professor Warren Julian.
“All went far beyond producing a minimal, sufficient solution for the lighting problem. This indicates that the designers showed a dedication and a commitment that, together with their considerable design skills, led to the highly successful results achieved.”
Pierlite says the DOT92 delivers excellent energy efficiency and cost savings. The 9 W LED lamp offers 800 lm for the warm white and 900 lm for the white and daylight lamps and has a life of 35,000 hours. The company says the DOT range offers a 40% energy saving compared with fluorescent downlights and a 70% energy saving compared with traditional dichroic lamps - without compromising on light quality. Various finishes, colours and options are available.
