COVID-19 rules for work vehicle travel

Managing the risk of COVID-19 spread is difficult when colleagues need to travel with one another in the same vehicle.

Master Electricians Australia said there were reports that NSW Police were stopping work vehicles with more than two persons and warning or fining the occupants for breaching travel restrictions if the occupants were not related.

It contacted NSW Police Customer Assistance Unit (CAS) for clarification on these reports. However, CAS has advised travel for work-related purposes is definitely exempt from the two-person rule.

Several NSW Police stations were also contacted, in each case police understanding aligns with the CAS advice.
