Comments requested on network safety amendments
The Building and Energy division of the Western Australian Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety is proposing to amend the Electricity (Network Safety) Regulations 2015 and is inviting those in the sector to review and comment on the proposed amendments.
A review of the 2015 regulations has been carried by Building and Energy to identify any regulations that are not working as intended and to incorporate additional regulations for new technology and methods used by network operators to supply electricity to consumers.
The regulation document — Electricity (Network Safety) Amendment Regulations 2019 — with proposed amendments is accompanied by an explanatory memorandum.
Click here to see how the proposals will appear in the amended text of the regulations.
Click here to read the explanatory memorandum, which shows each proposed amendment followed by the reason why the amendment has been proposed.
Any comments or suggestions are requested to be submitted by 5 pm on Friday, 4 October 2019 via email: ENSR@dmirs.wa.gov.au.
