ABB wins in Electronics & Electrical category at BIMobject Awards

ABB has received an award for being the most downloaded brand in the Electronics & Electrical segment at the 2026 BIMobject Awards.

The awards recognise top-performing manufacturers across multiple categories of building information modelling (BIM). ABB’s gong is evidence of the growing worldwide demand among architects, engineers and designers for its digital BIM solutions.

“This recognition reflects the hard work we have put into making it as easy as possible for designers and engineers to work with ABB products from the very first stages of a project,” said Emanuele Tosatti, Global Channel Marketing Manager, ABB Electrification.

“BIM is increasingly central to how buildings are planned and built, and we are committed to ensuring ABB is at the heart of that process.”

ABB provides digital models of its electrification portfolio, including wiring accessories, circuit protection, EV charging infrastructure and smart building controls. Available in both open and proprietary formats, these BIM objects integrate with major design platforms.

When integrated early in the project lifecycle, these digital assets enable teams to plan more accurately, improve collaboration between disciplines, and reduce costly rework during construction. ABB’s BIM objects also support the creation of digital twins, giving building owners and facility managers a digital record that can be used throughout the lifetime of a building — from handover through to ongoing operation and maintenance. The technology also helps customers avoid and reduce emissions across their operations, supporting the delivery of more sustainable buildings through the entire lifecycle.

To further support adoption, ABB provides access to dedicated BIM specialists who work alongside planners, consultants and designers throughout the project lifecycle, so that teams have the technical assistance they need at every stage.

ABB ultimately aims to make its complete electrification portfolio available in BIM format, ensuring that every stakeholder involved in a building project — including architects, MEP engineers, electrical installers, facility managers and building owners — has access to the digital data required to plan, design and operate buildings more efficiently.

Winners in the annual BIMobject Awards are selected through a detailed analysis of platform usage metrics, based on global download data recorded through the year — an approach that reflects genuine user preference within the global design community.
