4Cabling acquired by private equity group
4Cabling, a direct-to-consumer manufacturer, wholesaler and retailer of cabling and IT management accessories, has been acquired by private equity company Gernis Holdings.
The company that specialises in the voice, data, fibre, electrical cabling and server rack equipment industry was founded by Nicole Kersh, a self-confessed “professional nerd who doesn’t take myself too seriously and thrives on the collective energy of community”.
“Change keeps my brain keen, so I recently took the risk and sold 4Cabling to private equity investors. Now, I’m un-cabled and looking for challenges to engage in knowledge sharing and forward thinking pursuits,” says Kersh on her website.
4Cabling has recently appointed two new directors - Chitrang Trivedi and Ross Cochrane - to its board. Chitrang Trivedi has been an integral part of the 4Cabling team for the past 14 months, and a part of the IT, data and electrical industry for the past 19 years. “Chitrang brings a wealth of hands-on industry sales and product experience to the board,” said Jonathan Maister, managing director, 4Cabling and Gernis Holdings.
“Appointing Ross to our board of directors as a non-executive director is a strong vote of confidence in 4Cabling’s future growth,” said Maister.
Gernis’s CFO Martin Heymann is also on the board of 4Cabling.
