Unmanaged industrial ethernet switches

Friday, 01 August, 2008 | Supplied by: Daanet Pty Ltd

Hirschmann’s Spider range of unmanaged industrial ethernet switches has been expanded to include nearly every port configuration possible up to eight ports, enabling cost-effective solutions to be implemented - from a 2-port fibre transceiver, to a 3-port TAP (for ‘daisy-chain’ applications) and a 4- or 8-port switch with or without fibre.

The switches are designed to provide electricians and switchboard designers with the ability to conveniently place ethernet ports wherever required, especially in field cabinets.

With a ruggedised design, normally excessive temperature, shock, vibration and EMI are accommodated by the device. Under extreme moisture and dust conditions, the IP67-rated Hirschmann Octopus (including M12 connections) can be utilised.

Installation of the device is simple, with DIN rail mounting and 24 VDC supply connection for out-of-the-box deployment. No configuration patch cable selection is required as the switch automatically adjusts for common cabling termination and selection errors, while data rate port settings (10 or 100 Mbps) and half/full duplex is also automatic.
