NextMove ESB2 Motion controller

NextMove-ESB2 is an ‘all-in-one’ motion automation controller supplied in a rugged and ready-to-use packaged form.

The unit offers control for servo and stepper motor axes, together with onboard I/O and fieldbus connectivity to expand servocontrol capability from three to four axes. This could, for example, be employed to provide a complete X-Y-Z and alpha axis positioning control solution.

Typical applications include ‘pick and place’ machines, high-speed printing, packaging, labelling and machine tools and common process automation needs including positioning stages, robotics and rotary knives.

The unit supports servoloop closure times of 100 µs on the four main axes, with six-term closed loop control for accurate positioning (PID, velocity, acceleration feed forward and velocity feedback).

The I/O comprises 20 digital inputs, 12 digital outputs, two 12 bit differential analog inputs, a CANopen-compatible fieldbus port and two serial ports including a 12 Mbps USB interface.

The unit is also available in a lower cost version with control outputs for three servoaxes.
