The Leutron Vision PicSight gigabit ethernet and smart cameras are now fitted with an integrated socket enabling motorised lenses with ‘C’ or ‘CS’ mountings to be connected directly to them, providing fully automated lens control for high-resolution video surveillance and industrial cameras with sensors.
Using three H-switches for aperture, depth-of-field and focus, either a positive or negative operating voltage can be selected, which can then be allocated to two directions of movement, eg, for zooming in and out, depending on the function required. The potentiometer positions of the three functions can be read and evaluated by the software, giving users full control over the motorised zoom lens and to achieve auto-focus and auto-iris functions.
The modular nature of the cameras enables them to be individually tailored to specific needs, with a selection of 28 different types of sensors to choose from. Image transmission is possible via a number of digital interfaces such as gigabit ethernet, CameraLink or USB 2.0. Various different sensor, interface and processor modules can be combined to produce as many as 300 different types of cameras including smart cameras.
