Clipsal Australia recently announced that it will relocate its head office and manufacturing operation to Gepps Cross, 8 km from its current Bowden facility.

The site, presently occupied by Coles at Port Wakefield Road, will receive a $35 million upgrade to transform it into Clipsal's state-of-the-art, five-star, energy rated facility. Clipsal plans to add 5000 m² of floor space to accommodate extra office space and a new training centre, bringing the total floor space to almost 30,000 m², with a phased move-in expected to be complete by early 2009.

"The new facility will be a better environment to maximise our manufacturing and logistical efficiencies. It will also be a better experience for the thousands of customers who visit for training each year and see our latest innovations and developments," said Erik Scholz, Clipsal executive GM.

Schneider Electric and other key brands within the group will share the new facility, consolidating the current Adelaide operations of Schneider, TAC, Moduline, EES and PDL.

The facility will feature a central atrium to provide extensive use of natural light into the office, contributing to a five-star energy rating, training centre to accommodate 100 people, R&D laboratory, museum and display centre.
