Thursday, 25 September, 2014

Victorian Transport Association (VTA) President Brendan Hopley today announced that Neil Chambers is no longer chief executive officer of the VTA effective immediately. Neil will be pursuing other interests.

“The VTA Executive Council and VTA staff wish Neil well in his future endeavours. It is fortunate that Peter Anderson, former chief executive officer for the Scott’s Group of Companies, has agreed to fulfil the role of interim chief executive officer for a period of three months while a thorough search is conducted. Peter will take up this appointment effective 1 October.

“With over 30 years’ experience in the transport industry and a longstanding relationship with the VTA including past membership of the executive council, we are pleased to welcome Mr Anderson with his extensive operational knowledge and experience to the VTA team. Mr Anderson looks forward to spearheading the VTA’s advocacy efforts for the benefit of all members as well as the wider transport community,” said Hopley.

With over 800 member companies, the VTA is committed to enhancing the productivity, safety, workforce development and sustainability of the industry. Industry leadership and advocacy are at the core of our stakeholder engagement.
