IFS has collaborated with TomTom and developed a major feature enhancement to the IFS Mobile Workforce Management solution.

The enterprise service management suite is being enhanced through the incorporation of TomTomTraffic via the TomTom Routing API. By applying the TomTom Routing API, and taking into account real-time traffic conditions affecting ongoing or committed travel activities, IFS Mobile Workforce Management users can benefit from more accurate routing, improved time-to-destination estimations and staff cost efficiencies.

IFS selected TomTom because of the global scope and extent of its mapping data, historical traffic data that is based on a database of trillions of measurements and real-time traffic data derived from millions of connected devices globally.

“We’re excited that IFS has chosen to launch a new and enhanced version of its workforce scheduling and planning solution leveraging TomTom’s advanced mapping and real-time traffic information,” said Darren Cottage, VP sales and marketing, TomTom Geospatial and Traffic.

Tom Bowe, IFS industry director for enterprise service management, said, “Many of our customers rely on IFS Mobile Workforce Management to offer superior customer value in time-sensitive service areas such as deliveries, on-site repairs and maintenance. Integrating accurate real-time traffic data from TomTom that takes into account weather conditions, roadworks and other traffic jams makes our solution even more compelling. By utilising the global TomTom travel information database, we are offering a tool that provides optimised and reliable travel estimates that can help our customers improve their service operations and can ultimately increase profitability.”
