Treotham Automation igus Triflex R robot energy chain

Monday, 15 March, 2010 | Supplied by: Treotham Automation Pty Ltd

The igus Triflex R robot energy chain system has over 200 components to cover a range of applications from large-scale welding to small palletising robots, including Chainflex cables for torsional applications.

The Chainflex CF Robot family transfers energy and data in highly dynamic applications using the multi-axis energy chains, including twistable bus cables for Profibus, CAN-bus and industrial ethernet bus systems.

The cables feature torsion-resistant insulation, PTFE gliding layer, braided shield with 85% optical coverage and a halogen-free PUR outer jacket that is claimed to be abrasion proof and oil and flame resistant.

Twistable motor cables are available with shielded 1-, 3- and 4-core cable formats with cross-sections from 1.5 to 35 mm2; and can be supplied in either shielded or non-shielded versions. The shielded types feature high-grade PTFE gliding layers to provide a sturdy basis for the torsion-resistant insulation.

Twistable fibre-optic cables are available for installation in robotics. The cables have two optical fibre cores, are resistant to oil, bio-oil and UV light, and remain flexible in low ambient temperatures. Features include high-tensile aramid fibres and dampers that are stranded firmly around a GRP core and a halogen-free TPE outer jacket.
