RCBO circuit breaker

Tuesday, 01 July, 2008 | Supplied by: NAW Controls

The MRR series combination MCB and RCD (RCBO), developed by motor control gear manufacturer Mack Electrical, fits all the necessary electronics of an earth leakage trip unit and an over-current tripping mechanism into a single-pole MCB case with a 6 kA fault current rating.

The unit, approved for use in Australia and New Zealand and available with current ranges of 10 to 32 A, allows for the direct replacement of an existing MCB, enabling it to be made into a protected circuit. It is suitable for all load centres and panel boards with 35 mm DIN rail format and 45 mm escutcheon cut-outs.

The device allows for simple and economical installation of a protective device without the need to install a larger load centre. Typical installation time is claimed to be around 8 mins (including testing) on domestic and most commercial applications.
