Line reactors for power systems

Monday, 01 December, 2008 | Supplied by: Practical Control Solutions

The Practical Control Solutions line reactors are designed to attenuate harmonic distortion by impeding unwanted harmonic current resulting from the switching techniques used in many of these devices, which reflect unwanted harmonics back into the mains, often interfering with other equipment and causing excessively high neutral currents.

The reactors are intended for use in industrial applications such as electronically controlled AC and DC drives, rectifiers, inverters, AC converters and switched mode power supplies, where it is not uncommon for neutral currents to be greater than twice the line current, even in a balanced three-phase system.

The devices can be supplied as a bare open unit or as a fully-enclosed assembly suitable for retrofitting into existing installations.
