DEHN + SOHNE Blitzductor XT lightning current and surge arrester

The Blitzductor XT pluggable combined lightning current and surge arrester is designed for four signal wires and features three arrester modules that protect the Dupline Bus of devices with protective diode circuits at the input and bus systems in Ex zone 1.

A universal base is suitable for all arrester modules to optimise storage and assist in convenient pre-wiring and servicing. The protective-device design facilitates ‘hot swapping’ of modules through push-button removal and safe plug-in insertion without an auxiliary tool and without signal interruption.

The product family is SIL classified according to IEC 61508, IEC 61511 reliability and safety standards and EN 60068-2 compliant for vibration and shock.

The protection modules are rated so as to not be adversely affected by shock or vibration in transport and in application, nor by current during discharge procedures.

With no protective components in the base, maintenance work is confined to just the protection modules. The integrated LifeCheck allows arrester testing without having to remove modules, which can be read using DEHNrecord non-contact RFID technology.

Some devices have UL approval and all BXT ML4 devices are ATEX and IECEx certified for Ex zone 2.
