The PB256 power supply has battery backup applications in industrial, telecoms, security and access control markets. The units, connected to a lead acid battery, are built to provide uninterrupted power to a DC load in the event of a mains failure.

The 256-CML employs high-efficiency switching that combined with low output noise, make it suitable for powering a wide range of loads such as communication systems, control equipment and alarm systems.

The units contain a two-step current limited float charger, battery charge current limiting along with a battery low-voltage disconnect and mains/charger and battery alarms.

A supplementary heatsink is required for 140 W models to operate at maximum power. A natural convection cooling is used by other models.
