LAPP Australia’s new UNIKA range provides marine and shipboard industries with a dedicated portfolio of power, control and Ethernet cable solutions, stocked locally in Australia.

Designed for demanding marine environments, the range includes SH-PC-A armoured and SH-PC-U unarmoured power and control cables, as well as SH-DATA Ethernet cables in Cat 6 and Cat 7a configurations.

Key features include DNV-GL and Lloyd’s Register marine certification; 600/1000 V voltage rating; and low-smoke, zero-halogen (LSZH) construction and flame-retardant cable systems. The cables come in single-core and multicore power and control configurations, with coloured cores for cables with up to five cores, and numbered cores for six cores or more.

The SH-PC-A cables’ copper wire braid armour has a minimum of 90% coverage, providing mechanical protection and screening. SH-PC-A cables also have HF XLPE insulation and an SHF1 outer sheath.

The SH-PC-A range is suited to fixed installations where additional mechanical protection is required, while SH-PC-U provides an unarmoured alternative where armour is not necessary. The SH-DATA range extends the portfolio to marine Ethernet connectivity, supporting data communications within modern vessels and shipboard environments. With the first UNIKA products now locally stocked, Australian customers can access marine-certified cable solutions more readily, backed by LAPP Australia’s local product expertise and nationwide technical support.
