The Clean Energy Council (CEC) has launched the Clean Energy Career Hub, an online hub for people seeking work in the clean energy industry and those already in the industry wanting to upgrade their skills and qualifications.

Launched during Clean Energy Week, the Clean Energy Career Hub was developed to promote career pathways, education and training options, workforce development and e-learning in the industry.

“The Clean Energy Council is taking a proactive approach to workforce development to meet the needs of the clean energy industry,” said CEC Chief Executive David Green. “The Clean Energy Career Hub is a great source of information for people considering a career in this growing sector.

“A central, online repository of information on what courses, resources and paths are available in the industry, we expect the hub to grow and evolve into a really significant tool to help people establish careers in clean energy,” Green said.

The CEC anticipates the Hub will also help those currently working in the clean energy industry advance their careers.

The Hub was developed as part of the Workforce Development E-learning Project, supported through co-investment between the CEC and the National VET E-Learning Strategy, an initiative of the Australian and state and territory governments.

The Workforce Development E-learning Project has piloted an e-learning program, the Harness the Sun Flexible Learning Toolbox, in partnership with eight registered training organisations across Australia. As part of their training as solar photovoltaic system installers, over 1000 electricians will trial the e-learning toolbox later this year.

“The e-learning components of the project aim to provide more flexible learning options, which can reduce time away from work and give people in remote or regional areas greater access to training,” Green said.
