Norfolk Group has won a $14 million contract for electrical and instrumentation works at the Diamantina Power Station. CTEC awarded Norfolk the contract, which includes the first portion of four work packages associated with the 242 MW power station.

The contract involves electrical instrumentation, HVAC, fire protection and occupant warning systems works, including installation, commissioning, service and maintenance.

O’Donnell Griffin, Norfolk’s electrical and communications engineering business, and Haden, its mechanical engineering, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) business, will carry out the works.

“This contract is further evidence of the building momentum at Norfolk,” said Glenn Wallace, Norfolk’s Managing Director. “It is particularly pleasing given it is another project where O’Donnell Griffin and Haden will combine their specialist skills to deliver a superior result to the customer.”

The Diamantina Power Station is currently under construction in Mount Isa. Norfolk is said to be in a good position to secure the subsequent work packages.

The contract begins immediately and is expected to run until the second quarter of 2013.
