NHP to distribute Socomec range across ANZ
NHP, an Australian company specialising in power distribution, motor control and automation systems, has expanded its longstanding relationship with Socomec, a global manufacturer of electrical equipment with a strong focus on critical energy and power switching applications.
For the past 20 years, NHP has been the local distributor for Socomec’s power control and safety range. Now, the two companies have entered into an exclusive partnership entitling NHP to distribute Socomec’s energy management portfolio in Australia and New Zealand.
The expanded distribution partnership will become effective from 1 January 2025.
NHP’s Marketing Manager – Customer & Channels, Daniel Hillhouse, said that by expanding its partnership with Socomec, NHP could provide enhanced connectivity utilising the latest technology tailored for the local Australian and New Zealand markets.
“This expanded partnership will bring additional growth opportunities for both organisations as we move towards a more energy-efficient and sustainable future,” he said.
James Fraser, Managing Director – ANZ, Socomec, said NHP was an ideal fit for Socomec’s energy management portfolio, and that the experience for customers across Australia and New Zealand would be enhanced by the consolidation of both business lines into one cohesive channel.
“NHP has outstanding technical competencies, a strong local stocking capacity, extensive local project references, and a history of quality product management,” Fraser said.
The partnership comes at a time of increasing demand for energy management solutions, according to Fraser.
“With both Australia and New Zealand focusing on building sustainability, energy management solutions are becoming increasingly sought after by companies looking to meet ESG (environmental, social and governance) targets and other regulations,” he said.
“You have Green Star building ratings, NABERS (National Australian Built Environment Rating System), NCC (National Construction Code) requirements and different government regulations, all demanding more sustainable building usage.”
“Adherence to NCC energy monitoring requirements made this extension of our partnership particularly appealing,” Hillhouse added.
“NHP is already at the forefront with technologies to automate production and control power, and now with the expanded offering from Socomec surrounding energy monitoring solutions, NHP is well placed to provide our customers with end-to-end solutions which meet their needs now and into the future,” he said.
