GENERAL Australia announces new leader
Monday, 22 June, 2026
Philip Perham, long-serving Managing Director of GENERAL Australia (formerly Fujitsu General Australia), will be stepping down after nearly 27 years with the business. Following Perham’s departure, Sachio Inami, Head of Oceania (pictured), will become the senior point of contact for Australia.
The transition comes at a time of continuing change for GENERAL Australia, following the acquisition of Fujitsu General Limited by Paloma Rheem Holdings Co., Ltd. in August 2025.
Perham played a significant role in the growth and development of the business, helping establish it as one of the leading air conditioning brands in the Australian market. Since his promotion to Managing Director in 2017, he oversaw a period of sustained growth and supported the business through its transition to GENERAL Australia.
Thanking the departing MD for his “outstanding contribution”, Inami said Perham’s leadership, commitment and industry expertise had helped to shape the business as it is today.
“He has built strong relationships with our partners, customers and employees, and has played an important role in positioning the company for future success.”
GENERAL Australia said the leadership transition would not affect its day-to-day operations, customer support, partner relationships or strategic direction.
“Australia remains an important market for our business, and our commitment to our customers, partners and employees remains unchanged,” Inami said.
“As part of the Paloma Rheem Holdings group, GENERAL Australia is strongly positioned for the future. We will continue to focus on innovation, energy-efficient air conditioning solutions, customer care, and supporting our nationwide network of partners.”
