Fujitsu General becomes part of Paloma Rheem HD Group
Air conditioning manufacturer Fujitsu General has been acquired by the Paloma Rheem HD Group, following a tender offer by the latter for Fujitsu General’s common shares.
Fujitsu General expects the market for air conditioners to expand over the medium to long term, especially with air conditioners being increasingly deployed as a more climate-friendly alternative to fossil fuel equipment for heating and hot water.
The company’s Tech Solutions division is similarly poised for growth, driven by societal demands for enhanced disaster-response capabilities and the need for miniaturisation and energy efficiency in electronics.
In this environment, Fujitsu General will focus on developing and further advancing its core technologies, including heat pump and inverter technologies, as well as essential components such as compressors and motors.
By collaborating with companies within the Paloma Rheem HD Group across the entire value chain, Fujitsu General aims to expand its business in both domestic and international markets amid increasing competition. In the long term, Fujitsu General intends to enhance its leadership in the global air conditioning industry, integrate air conditioning and water heating technologies, and drive further innovation.
The company name and trademarks will be maintained as-is for a certain period while Fujitsu General continues normal operation. Details regarding any future name changes will be announced as they are decided.
