Free copper and optical fibre seminar
CommsForce, in partnership with EXFO and Celemetrix, is holding a breakfast seminar on fibre to the node (FTTN) technology.
Following a strategic review by the Australian Government, the NBN will now include this additional architecture in its rollout with FTTN. This is a hybrid technology that will use optical fibre and the existing Telstra copper network to provide high-speed VDSL2 broadband services to the customer premises.
NBN, in conjunction with Telstra, is currently piloting the planning, design and construction of 1000+ nodes throughout New South Wales and Queensland.
The seminar will provide insights on how to build a quality network and the opportunities for the industry. International speaker Andrew Long, group manager at EXFO and an expert within the copper industry, will discuss relevant worldwide projects, and Mathew Wegener, managing director of Celemetrix, will discuss the latest information on FTTN technology.
