Electrical contractor wins business award
Melbourne-based electrical contracting firm, Apps Electrics has been awarded the Foundation Award at the 2008 Melbourne Business Awards (MBA) in recognition of its ongoing commitment to youth employment and apprentices.
The MBA Foundation encourages an ongoing commitment to the training of young people, particularly in trade skills. Each year the MBA seeks out companies which display an ongoing commitment to youth employment and youth apprenticeships.
“We were very excited to achieve the recognition for the effort we put into training,” said Apps Electrics director, Michael Apps. “It complements our Victorian NECA Award for major projects this year. We try hard to put back support into the industry that supports us.”
The MBA commenced in 1992 to provide a forum for small-to-medium sized enterprises (SMEs) within Melbourne’s south-east, assisting them to become more enterprising and innovative by recognising excellence in companies that are leaders in their field, inspiring other SMEs to overcome the challenges they face and learn from the achievements of others and providing a valuable networking opportunity for local business people.
