E-Oz has launched a new online resource toolkit for the energy sector, called Energy Space. The not-for-profit division of E-Oz Energy Skills Australia will draw on E-Oz’s experience and expertise in the energy sector to provide products including:

  • Learning and Assessment Portal: Designed for RTOs delivering the electrical apprenticeship, the portal provides learning resources, unit assessments and a reporting function. It also offers add-on options, including customised professional development and IT services.
  • Readiness Assessment (RA): An online tool specifically designed to test a candidate’s readiness to commence an electrical apprenticeship. The Readiness Assessment tests the level of literacy and numeracy required and is a valuable resource for schools, RTOs and employers.
  • Find an Apprentice Portal: A free service offering a list of apprenticeship candidates, including pertinent details about each. Employers have the option to access a phone screening service, in which Energy Space will screen candidates for their readiness in an apprenticeship.
  • Find a Job Toolkit: A suite of resources aimed at aspiring electrical apprentices. Resources include a practice test, RA, RA certificate and a five-week online support program that includes listing on the Find an Apprentice Portal.
  • RTO Recruitment Service: A service offering assistance in recruitment for RTOs including advertising, interviews and reference checks with three packages on offer.

E-Oz Energy Skills Australia CEO Bob Taylor said Energy Space represented an exciting evolution. “The Australian energy sector is projected to expand rapidly in coming years and all major stakeholders will need educational products and services they can rely on,” said Taylor.
