ACT apprentices content with their training: survey
ACT apprentices are happy with their choice of apprenticeship, according to a survey released by the Minister for Education and Training, Andrew Barr.
The survey, called What Do ACT Apprentices Think?, was carried out during 2006 and more than 730 apprentices took part, representing the automotive, building and construction, primary industry, tourism and hospitality, food processing and sales and personal services sectors.
“It is great to see that some 95% of apprentices surveyed said they’d made the right decision in starting their apprenticeship and 70% planned to continue working or studying in an occupation related to their apprenticeship after they qualified.”
The results of the survey will be shared with registered training organisations and employers to help them understand how the apprenticeship experience could be improved, including the blending of on-site and off-site training.
