The Escap DC motor range, manufactured by Portescap, is designed for use in medical, HVAC, aerospace and commercial applications.
The motors feature ironless-rotor motor technology that uses a commutation system with either precious metals or a carbon/copper combination.
The rotors with rare earth magnets have the shape of a thin disc that is axially magnetised, which allows for a high number of magnetic poles, giving much smaller step angles than conventional two-phase permanent magnet stepper motors.
Portescap encoders combined with the motors provide controlled precision movement. Magnetic encoders integrated into or adapted onto the motors are also available.
Gearheads with 10.4 to 9534 mNm torque range and 5:1 to 49:1 reduction ratios are also available to fit with the motors.
