Hisense has available a cross-sector smart air conditioner, the power, temperature and humidity of which can be controlled and adjusted by instructions sent via a private message over microblog service.
To activate, users register on a microblog service for the air conditioner, which is connected via its power line, then add the account to their friends list (with scalability to all mobile instant messaging tools). Hisense has microblogging service Weibo as its partner in China.
The user then initiates a dialogue with the account via private messages to check the temperature, humidity and other conditions at home and issue smart commands which will be delivered to and executed by the air conditioner.
