Hirschmann Industrial Ethernet has expanded its range to include a 10-port switch in the IP67-rated Octopus family of networking devices.

The switch features two gigabit fibre uplink ports (1000 Base-FX) and eight twisted pair (100 Base-TX) ports with 4-pin M12-D connectors.

The switch includes a comprehensive range of management functions, including fast-recovery (50 ms) HiPER-Ring ring redundancy, as well as RSTP for compatibility with existing networks.

Filtering, flow control and prioritisation on a per-port basis provide traffic shaping to optimise network performance. SSH provides login security to ensure password protection.

The switches are suited to retrofitting to machinery needing ethernet appliances such as IP video, drives or on-machine displays and feature an operating temperature range of -40 to +70 °C.
