Ethernet switch for explosive environments

The RJ-Switch is an ATEX Zone 2-rated ethernet switch designed for outside deployment in explosive environments, such as in oil and gas, mining, chemical and bulk handling industries.

The IP68-rated switch features a rugged reinforced casing, a working temperature range of -40 to 75 °C and redundant filtered power supplies with overvoltage protection. MTBF is claimed to be 1,000,000 hours.

The RJ45 connections feature the RJStop connection system, converting a standard RJ45 cable into an IP68-rated connection that is protected against shocks, dust and fluids. The five RJ45 ports on the switch are available with connectors that are also sealed and ATEX rated.

The switch has a safety disconnect function to avoid disconnection under load. It is available in non-administrable or RING versions that can form a redundant ring topology with a particularly short recovery time of 30 ms. They are available with functions such as priority management (QoS) and port mirroring.
