The Simatic HMI TP 177B is a widescreen-format operator panel that expands the 170 family of panels, notable for their compact format and a visualisation screen.
The panel features a graphical 4.3" touch screen, four tactile function buttons and LED display backlighting that can be dimmed to 20% of its normal brightness and can be switched off completely by the integrated screensaver.
The panel is interfaced for Profibus DP and Profinet IOs and provides terminals to connect mobile data carriers such as USB sticks, SD cards or MMC cards, enabling operators to create backups of configurations, programs or recipe data.
The panel is configured with the aid of the Simatic WinCC flexible 2008 engineering software.
