Tuesday, 31 August, 2010 | Supplied by: Automated Control Pty Ltd

The AMCI DuraCoders range with stainless steel housings is IP69K rated for operation in extreme conditions.

The encoders have a high shaft-load rating and are claimed to provide a longer life cycle than other encoders.

Available with a standard IP67 rating (with IP69K-rated versions optionally available), the encoders protect against high-pressure and high-temperature washdowns, or liquid ingress from long-term immersion in water or contaminants.

Features include 63 mm housing; oversized double-row sealed bearing; solid shaft and hub shaft versions available with a variety of sizing options and shaft loadings of up to 45 kg; radial/22.5 kg axial.

The units are available in SSI, digital, analog, incremental, DeviceNet and EtherNet/IP versions.

Typical applications include food/beverage processing, specialty vehicles, cranes, energy-generation equipment, chemical/petroleum processing, wastewater treatment plants, offshore/marine environments and steel mills.
