Advantech ETM-RES02C touch control board

A touch control board, the ETM-RES02C, has been released for embedded developers.

It has fast response times for 4/5-wire resistive touch screens and is supplied with software that can help integrators configure their applications.

With a MTBF of 4,000,000 hours, it provides 4096 x 4096 touch resolution and fast response times of around 10 ms. It has USB and RS232 interfaces and three touch-screen connectors on board, one is for 4-pin ZIP type 4-wire touchscreen cables, another is for 5-pin header type 5-wire touch-screen cables and the last one is for 8-pin header type 5-wire cables. It also has a 10-bit A/D converter built in.

TouchWare software provides three main functions for users to help system integration. Hot key definition divides the screen into segments or frames and provides four default templates for ease of use. Screen configuration defines the function of each segment or frame, with the ability to be individually configured to function as the user wants.

Device Detection detects the status of the touch control board and touch screen. This forwards abnormal status conditions of the touch system to a service site for troubleshooting.

The board can be used with 7/XP/Vista, XP Embedded, CE Embedded and Linux OS. However, the software can only be used with Windows XP and XP Embedded.
