Investment in ute redesign pays off

Leading independent vehicle safety advocate the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) has announced a maximum 5 star ANCAP safety rating for the upgraded Toyota Landcruiser 70 single-cab chassis.

ANCAP says it’s encouraging to see Toyota responding to consumer demand, particularly from commercial and fleet buyers, and implementing design changes to improve the vehicle’s rating.

Changes include chassis and occupant cabin structural improvements, the addition of head-protecting side curtain airbags, driver knee airbag, seat belt pre-tensioners and changes to the bonnet and seat designs.

This 5 star ANCAP safety rating is two stars up from the previous version of the vehicle and applies only to single-cab chassis LC70 variants. Other variants are unrated. You can check out the full safety report using this link.
