ENA and CSIRO partner on Electricity Network Transformation Roadmap

CSIRO and the Energy Networks Association (ENA) have partnered to develop an Electricity Network Transformation Roadmap.

There are two upcoming workshops planned to explore the roadmap content as it grows, as well as to obtain constructive feedback from stakeholders throughout the process.

The ‘Future digital market platforms’ workshop, which will be held on 23 September, will further examine maturing perspectives on the digital market platform options that may be plausible in the Australian context. It will also look at possible implementation pathways.

In addition, strategic and technological options will be considered for valuing and monetising the services that millions of distributed energy resources (DERs) may provide to Australia’s future energy system. The event will examine how a transactive network platform may support peer-to-peer services and help maximise the customer value that energy retailers and aggregators may bundle through their own platforms.

The ‘Draft conceptual Roadmap content review’ will take place on 13 October, providing an overview of the proposed roadmap structure. It is designed to walk participants through all the major content sections as they are developing.

The workshop will be specifically tailored to seek review and feedback from stakeholders and will include a series of brief presentations on each section, followed by an opportunity to respond to the content presented. This feedback will be essential in helping to test the draft roadmap structure, content and its relationship to the quantitative modelling as the program moves into the detailed process of integrating and finetuning the content.
