WA facility approved for Weidmuller assembly work
Weidmuller has approved JT Day’s junction box assembly facility for the assembly of its junction boxes. JT Day’s facility has recently doubled in capacity to handle the increasing demand for customised junction boxes.
The approval to assemble locally is a bonus for projects being undertaken in Western Australia as it means customer requests can now be expedited. Prior to this approval, assembly work on Weidmuller junction boxes had to be conducted in the eastern states.
JT Day general manager Brian Prunty said the demand for the company’s junction box assembly facility had been considerable. It has led to staff member Darren Page moving into a dedicated junction box estimator’s role to give specialist advice and support to clients.
The workshop facility is handling Ex e and Industrial rated GRP and stainless steel products.
All fit-out, drilling, tapping and installation of terminal assemblies is carried out in house to provide an assembly service that meets the Lloyds Register ISO 9001:2010 quality program and under the tight control of IEC EX certification for hazardous areas.
