The Weidmüller Group has acquired Bosch Rexroth Monitoring Systems, strengthening its presence in renewable energy and expanding its portfolio of condition-monitoring technologies.

The new subsidiary will operate under the name of ‘Weidmüller Monitoring Systems’ with immediate effect.

“Weidmüller Monitoring Systems breathes new life into our existing solution portfolio for the wind energy sector,” said Dr Peter Köhler, chief executive of the Weidmüller Group.

“Thanks to our new subsidiary and its excellence in the area of rotor blade-based damage detection for wind turbines, our portfolio for wind turbine condition monitoring has become considerably more appealing both in Germany and worldwide. We are delighted to now be able to work together with our new employees in designing the wind energy systems of the future with customised automation solutions,” Köhler said.
