Category 7A cabling system

The LANmark-7A shielded cabling solution has been developed to meet the predicted demand for 40 Gbps data applications from data centres and users planning to provide ‘video on demand’ services. Its release follows the recent ratification of international standards for new copper class category 7A standard (1000 MHz) designed for 40 Gbps applications.

With double the bandwidth and half the crosstalk of category 6A, the 360° screened cabling system is immune to alien crosstalk and claimed to offer up to 50 Gbps data throughput capacity and future-proof cabling infrastructure, while being backwards compatible to support RJ45-based legacy equipment (100Base-T, 1GBase-T, 10GBase-T) using the GG45 connector.

The system can be upgraded to facilitate migration to 40 Gbps applications simply by changing patch cords.
