AFL Fujikura 22S Fusion Splicer

AFL has launched the Fujikura 22S active cladding alignment fusion splicer for field splicing that maintains good performance even in extreme environments.

With moveable v-grooves, splicer errors from dust and other contaminants are virtually eliminated. Removable sheath clamps also allow the use of fibre holders, while the 4.7″ monitor offers a clear image, even in bright sunlight.

The fully ruggedised chassis provides for shock, dust and moisture protection and the dual-camera observation system gives accurate fibre alignment and loss estimation calculations. Additional features include a long-life battery that provides power for up to 200 splice cycles (including the application of the splice sleeve), and the electrode life which has been extended to 5000 splices, minimising downtime for replacement and stabilisation.

The splicer is compatible with the FUSEConnect line of fusion installable connectors. The transit case and work tray also offer various options for utilising workspace.
