Dimmable light wins best new product award
Megaman, a global leader in energy-saving lighting solutions, has received this year’s ‘Best New Product’ award in the lighting category at designEX 2008.
The award was presented for the 11 W GU10 Reflector lamp from the soon-to-be-released Megaman Dimmerable range.
Selected from over 80 submissions, the best new product award recognises the product that stands out in design, functionality and innovation.
The Dimmerable provides manually dimmable lighting without the need for special equipment or control wiring.
The recyclable range is also better for the environment, assisting consumers and the corporate world alike in reducing their carbon footprint. The range has a lamp life of up to 10,000 hours (equivalent to seven years), in contrast to an average two years of lamp life achieved by traditional halogen lighting products.
“We’re delighted to have won this prestigious award,” said managing director of Megaman Australia, Cane Graoroski.
“This is a sign of exciting times ahead for Megaman, as we become established in Australia. We are looking forward to working with the Australian public to tackle the issue of climate change through our innovative energy-saving lamps.”
The Megaman Dimmerable 11 W GU10 Reflector lamp will be released in Australia in August 2008.
