Testo 881 thermal imager

Thursday, 22 April, 2010 | Supplied by: Testo Pty Ltd

The testo 881 thermal imager enables facilities such as electrical swithchboards to be tested completely damage free, thereby identifying problems before malfunctions or fire risks occur.

Small temperature differences can be identified accurately with the high-temperature resolution of the instrument, while interchangeable lenses enable selective image display and automatic hot/cold spot recognition marks critical temperature conditions to ensure uninterrupted error localisation on site.

The instrument features integrated measurement site management for the structuring of inspection routes, integrated digital camera to capture real images of the measurement site, power LEDs to illuminate dark areas and a headset to record spoken commentary on distinctive features with infrared images during inspection routes.

With a temperature resolution of <80 mK and measuring range of up to 550°C (with high-temperature option), the instrument can identify critical heat statuses directly. Filling levels in sealed fluid tanks can also be monitored. Automatic filling level monitoring can fail, so a regular crosscheck with the thermal imager is a logical complement to this.
