ERP efficiency

After many years of managing multiple disparate systems, it became evident to promotional products manufacturer House of Uniforms that a change of business software and systems was essential for the company’s continued growth.

Among the business challenges, the company had inefficient stock ordering processes and practised duplicate data entry, which is both time-consuming and prone to human error. There was also a lack of inventory visibility, business insight and real-time information for sales staff, there was no product matrix and data integrity was dubious.

House of Uniforms spoke to Klugo and decided to implement its NetSuite ERP solution to help improve efficiency — from initial customer contact through to sales and right through the stock ordering and production process.

Selena Kemp, managing director at House of Uniforms, sees the benefits.

“NetSuite will allow us to improve customer satisfaction — it will tidy efficiencies and ensure the customer journey is more enjoyable.

“It will also provide all staff with real-time information, allowing everyone to be more responsive to changes and updates.

“Everyone in the office is looking forward to NetSuite being implemented; they’re on board and excited about having it up and running. The way we see it, NetSuite is like a new staff member who is super smart, always at work and able to multitask across all areas to help us all.

“It has marketing capabilities that will ensure we can communicate with clients more frequently — currently it is really difficult — as well as consolidate supplier purchasing, which is an added bonus with the system,” said Kemp.

One of the key selection criteria for a system was grid order management. With an extensive range of products available, each with a matrix of colour and size options, the system needed to cater to this.

“We needed a solution that would make ordering stock more efficient — what used to take about nine hours per week will now be finalised within 30 minutes.

“The fact that it is scalable was also a key factor in our decision.

“NetSuite was the only system that could cater to our needs and, after 12 months of searching, we are happy with our decision. We selected Klugo because they understood our business and what we wanted,” said Kemp.
