ILME thermoplastic enclosures

Tuesday, 31 August, 2010 | Supplied by: Treotham Automation Pty Ltd

ILME enclosures are made from a self-extinguishing thermoplastic material in the most common industry sizes of 44.27, 57.27, 77.27 and 104.27.

The enclosure thickness provides high structural solidity and mechanical robustness, while the material itself is resistant to the main chemical agents of the industrial environments and pre-fastened gaskets simplify installation.

The external dimensions of the bulkhead housings are similar to those of the corresponding metal housings, with panel cut-outs unchanged. There is wide space inside enclosures for cables, with mounted connectors, similar to their corresponding metal versions.

Being nonmetallic, the enclosures provide totally insulated constructions that are equivalent to class II, while the absence of powder paint enables them to be installed in environments where paints are not recommended. The enclosures are manufactured from insulating material, so they do not require reinforced insulation as metallic enclosures do when used with CME higher voltage connectors inserts (screw-type terminals).

Each enclosure carries its own part number and conformity markings.
